OKF v0.2
OKF v0.2 is a vendor-neutral open knowledge format for people and agents, using Markdown, YAML frontmatter, and a small set of interoperability conventions to carry metadata, context, and curated knowledge.
Who it is for: Knowledge producers: people, agents, and existing directory export pipelines. Knowledge consumers: agents, UIs, search indexes, and deterministic code. Teams needing to exchange knowledge bundles between different systems or organizations.
Core capabilities
- Documented knowledge packages: Represent knowledge as a directory of Markdown files with YAML frontmatter, without requiring a central registry or mandatory tools.
- Decoupling of producers and consumers: Define a common interoperability interface for people, agents, export pipelines, and multiple consumer types, allowing tools on both ends to be independently replaced.
- Sources and trust signals: Record sources and confirmation status via frontmatter information such as sources, generated, and verified, allowing consumers to derive trust tiers.
- Freshness and lifecycle: Use stale_after to mark an absolute expiration date, and use status to indicate draft, stable, or deprecated.
- Attested computation: Attested Computation saves recognized computation methods and ways to verify execution, but OKF itself does not perform computations.
